[Captain's in Office] -- [Open to All]
Jan. 18th, 2010 12:31 pm(OOC: Note! This is an open post for anyone who needs Kirk in any way, shape, or form right now, so just drop on by even though its starting off with Kirk and Spock!!)
After the night with Bones, to say James T. Kirk felt like shit was an understatement. He felt hurt, and angry, and confused, and all over the place all at once. It made for... well, not the greatest beginning for an alpha shift on the bridge.
He was slumped in his office. Sleep hadn't come easy, and he hadn't stayed that way much at all. This morning had even required coffee. Shit, he hadn't been forced to drink coffee to stay awake in months.
And now he had a meeting with Spock. Great. He was pretty sure there was something else ... someone else... he had a meeting about today too but couldn't force himself to remember yet.

Date: 2010-01-18 09:55 pm (UTC)He was young, she thought, looking at him. She knew his birthdate as well as everyone else in Starfleet, of course. But the history text hadn't mentioned how blue his eyes were.
She wondered how well he was handling all the pressure. How well anyone could, let alone someone with so little command experience.

"I imagine so. The reports from the Enterprise have been causing quite a stir back home, Captain. At least, among those of us who believe them."
"Those reports are why I'm here," she continued. "Dr. McCoy contacted Admiral Petrovich a few weeks ago, requesting the aid of a full-time psychiatrist on staff. To help the displaced adjust to life here, should they need it - and also to offer any assistance required to the native crew."

Date: 2010-01-23 05:32 am (UTC)"The other thing..." She paused, and when she spoke again, her tone was serious, though not accusing. "I need you to keep me informed about what's going on on this ship, Captain. Starfleet, for whatever reason, decided not to inform me of your encounter with Nero and his ship before I arrived here. And that's exactly the kind of thing I need to know, so that I can fully understand the stresses the people here are under. So that I can do my job, and help them."
Her eyes traced the tattoos on Kirk's face and neck, but she didn't mention them. She had managed, eventually, to get the full story of what had happened over on the Narada - at least, as much of the story as anyone in the crew seemed to know. She had no doubt that the young captain still carried some trauma over the incident - no one went through that kind of experience and just walked away from it. But she also remembered the way he had tensed as soon as she'd mentioned her profession, and so she didn't say anything. If she was going to be able to help Kirk, it would have to be when he was ready for her help, and not before.

She stood, smiling.
"I'm sure you're busy - I won't take up any more of your time." She smiled, and held out her hand. "Thank you for meeting with me, Captain. I'm sure we'll be in touch."
