[HALLOWEEN PARTY!] -- [Open to ALL PLAYERS!] -- [IC Event!]

It had gone out as an announcement over a month ago, sent to every padd and station by one very excited Captain. A Halloween party! Must come in costume, must have fun!

Despite the hell that had been going on for the last few days, Kirk was determined that it still would happen. After a long discussion with the ship's quartermaster, along with a small army of crewmen who wanted to help, the largest rec room was decorated.

A huge buffet table had been prepared by the galley and sat spread out, all in Halloween theme. Green punch with floating eyeballs, cake decorated to look like a gravestone, a huge bowl of candy, a holographic severed hand that was scurrying around on the table top. There was even a bar set up with quite an expanse of liquor that had been secured on Risa.

There was a small seating area off to one corner, a huge dance floor, tables spread out for a real meal, and a small corner set up for music.

(OOC: Just like the thread with Risa... this is a party that's 'open' from now until Sunday night at midnight! Go nuts! This IS supposed to be IC, like the Risa party, so keep that in mind!)

"But you... knew that she is sentient?"

Leonard felt more than a little confused. He hadn't really discussed the Buick with all that many people, so unless Riley had spoken to her, how could he have known?

"No, I didn't know, but it wasn't a big surprise when you told me. It's been pretty hard to surprise me lately." A coy grin.

Leonard laughed. "Too much weird stuff going on in general? I'll have to give you that."

His lip quirked in amusement. "Although I have to admit, I'm still more than a little thrown by the fact that she apparently brought us here deliberately, because she felt she was On A Mission."

"Yes. Way too much weird stuff." Kevin laughed, as well. "That is really interesting. A mission? Did she tell you what kind?"

"To do something about the tension she apparently felt between Bill and I, I kid you not. I'm just waiting for her to start writing fanfiction, at this rate."

Riley smiled at that. "Oh, ho, ho, your car trying to play matchmaker, is she?" He laughed again at the bit about fanfiction. "Fanfiction, huh? I don't think a car could do that."

"I'd be lying if I claimed she wasn't successful, or that it was unappreciated, in this instance." He shrugged. "Perhaps so, but then again, cars don't normally have the capacity to deage people whilst transporting them across time and space..."

Riley raised an impressed, amused eyebrow beneath his mask. "Well, go her, then."

Leonard laughed, agreeing completely. "So, you been up to anything interesting lately?"

He shrugged. "Not particularly. Anything interesting been happening to you beyond learning your car is sentient?"

Your Captain, Leonard did not say. There were topics fit for general conversation, and then there were those that... weren't.

"Not really, no," he answered instead, "to be perfectly honest I feel like I'm starting to go a bit stir-crazy - I think it's the not having any kind of job or responsibility thing."

Riley laughed. "I know what you mean. I don't really have much to do yet, either."

"Funny, that. I would have assumed that they could always use more qualified people on a starship this size."
