It was morning on the Enterprise, and it came with the slow creaking of wood deck around him, swelling in the heat of the morning, the sound of waves against the sides of the ship. Definitely a damn good way to wake up.

Even better was waking up between two warm bodies, one pressed to either side of him. On one side was his cabin boy, a young buck with a foolish head but a pleasing face and tongue. On the other, his first mate, a smug, stoic, uptight, ridiculously intelligent bastard who he had finally talked into ...sharing his bed. At least in the physical sense. He'd won the argument that the captain's bed was the most comfortable place on the ship, but anything beyond that was met with a pointed look and a reach for the sword hilt.

It was a damn good life here on the Enterprise.

He was Captain James T. Kirk of the pirate ship Enterprise, the most feared name on the open seas. He ran his crew with a mixture of charm, command, and the point of his sword. He was a good swordsman, a better brawler, and decent with a flint lock.

Marlena jumped as the sound pierced her reverie. She looked around frantically for its source, and spotted the new Captain Pasha glaring at her. She gave a lazy grin and casually saluted her. "Yeah, Cap'n? What c'n I do for ye?"

At first Marlena's salute confused her, but then reason for it sunk in. 'Oh. That is goin' to take some gettin' use to.' Pasha thought.

"Moreau, I forget how long hawe you been aboard again?" She questioned.

"Almos' three years, now," she answered. "Why? You gettin' tired of seein' my face, want some new blood in the crew?" It was said in a teasing tone, with a cocky grin, but she had no intention of leaving quietly if that proved to be the case.

Pasha answered the woman's grin with her own. "Couldn't get rid o' ye if we tried lass. Three years is awful long time, I think it be time you where hawing a promotion. How's First mate suit ye?"

She felt that Marlena was a sensible choice as First mate, yet another strong woman aboard that people admired. Having a driving force such as her on the younger woman's side would work to great adavatage for the ship.

First mate? That was hardly what she'd expected. "Yes," she agreed instantly. "Suits me just fine." Wow...first mate!

Pasha grinned triumphantly. "Lowely, Fair winds Moreau."

She turned on her heel and yelled orders to the deckhands as she moved back towards her wheel. "Weigh the Anchor, Heave to the East. C'mon get mowing or the treasure will aye be gone by the time we get there!"

Patting Marlena roughly on the shoulder she grinned at her. "Congrats Moreau!"

Turning to Pasha, "I'm going to find Meira and Tina and let them know. Any other message to relay?"

The young woman grinned "Tell Meira to stay away from th' sharp objects in the surgeons room. Oh, 'nd can ye tell Tina that we need her as the surgeon, Lord knows she's the best damn medic on this ship. Thanks."
