kirktastic: ((Pirate) You are a pirate!)

It was morning on the Enterprise, and it came with the slow creaking of wood deck around him, swelling in the heat of the morning, the sound of waves against the sides of the ship. Definitely a damn good way to wake up.

Even better was waking up between two warm bodies, one pressed to either side of him. On one side was his cabin boy, a young buck with a foolish head but a pleasing face and tongue. On the other, his first mate, a smug, stoic, uptight, ridiculously intelligent bastard who he had finally talked into ...sharing his bed. At least in the physical sense. He'd won the argument that the captain's bed was the most comfortable place on the ship, but anything beyond that was met with a pointed look and a reach for the sword hilt.

It was a damn good life here on the Enterprise.

He was Captain James T. Kirk of the pirate ship Enterprise, the most feared name on the open seas. He ran his crew with a mixture of charm, command, and the point of his sword. He was a good swordsman, a better brawler, and decent with a flint lock.

[OOC: This will be the ONLY pirate thread everyone, no multiple posts on multiple journals! Post just in here for this! Today only!]

Marlena awoke with a serious crick in her neck. She'd fallen asleep at her work again, and no part of her didn't ache. She inhaled deeply, smelling the salt air mixing with the tang of gunpowder. She stood, found the lid of the barrel she'd fallen asleep against, and closed it securely. It wouldn't do to have it spill with the rocking of the ship, and have all her hard work go to waste.

She staggered up to the deck on still-asleep legs, numb from being folded under her all night. She cursed aloud as the blood abruptly rushed back into the aching tissue, making her flesh prickle and twinge. She moved to the rail, steadying herself as her legs got used to being used again.

Sky and sea were a study in silver and lavender in light of the sunrise. There was powder enough for all the Farragut's cannons, and the air smelled of good fortune. It was going to be a damn good day.

Captain Sam Kirk, with a machete in hand, wandered back into the tree line looking for fruit. It had been over a week since they had left their last port. His men were becoming restless, so they had mored the ship out in the cove and gone ashore to relearn what it felt like to have earth beneath their feet. There were no fruit trees on the beach, so he had unsheathed his knife and gone to explore, leaving his men on the beach napping and feasting.

At the bottom a valley he spotted a mango tree heavy with fruit. Sam made his way down, and as he approached it he saw a man laying limp at its base. Raising the machete to strike, he moved closer, but the man did not move. He grabbed the back of the man's shirt and rolled him over to lay on his back. The man was badly sunburned and beaten, but Sam was sure of who he was.

Well, I was going to post this in its own entry, but you said not to, so...

I drew a picture of pirate!Marlena. And then I discovered that my scanner doesn't work. I took a picture of it, but the flash washed it out and without the flash it's really dark, and...well, I tried to fix it a little with Photoshop but it didn't help much, I don't know how to fix things like this...also, the paper grain is really visible...

That's what pirate!Lena wears. And if the pose and outfit look familiar, that's because they're shamefully and inaccurately copied from the Bloodsail Admiral draenei (http://pics.livejournal.com/l0stmyrel1g10n/pic/0003qgst.png). Also, you can probably see why I ended the legs where I did. I can't draw well without a reference, and Marlena certainly doesn't have hooves!

George whimpered as he rolled over. He did not know how long he had been in this place, been this way. He barely knew himself anymore. He could just barely remember his before.

"Who..." He futilely swallowed, staring at the human...hadn't seen one for who knew....

"Get up," Sam ordered. "You're coming with me."

"Who are you?" George rasped, looking up at the other man, not willing to move yet...well, more, not certain he could.

"That don't matter," Sam said. He nudged George with the flat of the machete, but it was fairly apparent the man would not be going anywhere under his own power for some time.

Sam jerked George upright and sat him against the mango tree. He pulled his belt free from his pants and, pulling George's hands back, tied his belt around George's wrists, trapping him.

"You'll be waitin' here for me to return, George Kirk."

Sam sheathed the machete and began his march back to the beach.

George just sighed. Great. Now he was going to be beaten, left for dead and tied up. Just figured. First human he saw and he didn't even have the decency to give him any damned rum.

It had been a fuckin' bad morning for the Doctor... two crew members had come down with some stomach ague and had been feverish, and no amount of bleeding had lessened their symptoms. The swill that had been served for breakfast made his own stomach churn. And now, the captain had him marching through some godforsaken jungle to treat some refuse he'd found. Fucking great...

At least there was a few people with them - crew members of lesser status to clear the path for the captain and himself. Having some skills accorded him some rights on that shabby little boat.

Demora leaned against the railing. She had awoken early that morning, long before the sun had risen. She had taken that time to clean her gun and polish her sword. Always be prepared.

She smirked slightly when saw a large whale surface for air.

It won't last long, swimming near boats, she thought to herself.

"That's him," Sam stated, as if George were something of mild importance. He didn't even bother to point, just inclined his head for a moment before going to pick mangos.

McCoy rolled his eyes at his captain. This person, he used the term generously as the man was in fucking bad shape, was of some importance, otherwise why not just schlep him out of the jungle to where McCoy could treat him on the boat, or the beach? Why make him march through his disease-infested jungle when he didn't have to?

Was the captain mad at him for something?

Kneeling next to the sun-burned husk of a person, he felt for a pulse. Thready, but there. "You got any pain?" he asked brusquely.

George started to laugh, rasping out of a bone dry throat. "Rum?" Oh yeah, he had a lot of pain. In the head, and over a good portion of his body. Probably would puke if anything would come out.

The pirate ship Enterprise was a menace to civilized society. Ephram had vowed to capture its captain, arrest its crew, and see that justice was done for their pirating crimes.

If only he could find them. The ship was bloody difficult to track down.

Heh... of there was anything that Bones had on him regularly it was rum. He offered the injured man some of his flask - medicinal, he reminded himself, making sure it was just a few sips, enough to wet the mouth and prepare the other man for the trip back up the beach.

Good that they'd brought some strong backs with them to carry this one. He'd never make it under his own power.

"What is your name, sailor?" he asked, pulling out some salve to apply to the worst of the burns. He'd need more, but the rest of his stores were back on board the Kalon Kakon.

George growled slightly when the rum was taken away. "Captain George Samuel Kirk of the Pirate Ship Kelvin." He struggled to stand up, but between being tied, and his general state of health, he just kind of listed to the side, falling down with an oomph.

"...Hm." Regards the map before him with a keen eye and glances up at the Foriegn Marshal Ephram. "The Enterprise has stolen it's last shipment of H.R.H. Mandana's latinum."

He stands from his chair, his hand settling elegantly against the rapier at his hip, and drops a fine carved ivory piece on the crossroads of the Neutral Waters.

"I shall see to it he takes no more," Commodore Nero Fae'Tayor swore with an inclination of his head and a light upturn of his lips.

Bones looked over at the ropes. Giving his captain a snarl, he cut them off with a knife from his boot.

The name makes Bones stop. Kirk? Kelvin? This time the look he gave his captain, as he helped the injured man to standing, was more complicated, for only a few people knew the story behind Captain Sam. And Bones was one of those people.

Was this really George Kirk? And what did Sam have planned for... his father.

With the various crewmen brought along busy plucking all of the ripe mangoes from the tree and putting them into sacks, Sam turned his attention back to George and Bones.

"How long do you think he has?"

Bones shrugged. "Five, maybe six... decades," he muttered sarcastically, looking over at Captain Sam as he directed the others to carry George. "Broken ribs, some abrasions... but there's nothing wrong with him that food and rest won't fix," he told him, eyes narrowing.

Ephram returns the curl of lips. "Latest intelligence puts the last location of the Enterprise...here." He moves the ivory piece just over the Federation border of Neutral Waters. "It puts the ship under my jurisdiction...but I will defer to you as commander of this ship, Commodore."

"I request that the Captain and as many crew as possible be taken alive."

George glared at them both as he slowly got to his feet. "More rum?" The blond kid looked awfully familiar...he wasn't sure why. Maybe he knew him? "Do I know you?"

"I dunno, maybe." Sam waved to the crewmen to carry George off to the beach. He placed at hand on Bones's shoulder to stop and watched the crewmen carry George up to the top of the hill.

"I'm glad we found him in one piece. He'll fetch a good price." Sam kissed Bones on the cheek and pulled out a pocket knife. "Mango?" he offered.

Nero regards the man with a lightly raised eyebrow and a placid, slightly patronizing smile. "Of course, and H.R.H. Mandana appreciates your indulgence in the matter, Lord Ephram.

"The Captain and crew are criminals from the Rihannsu crown, as well as the Federated states," he adds as he eyes the map-piece and moves around the table, failing to adjust it back across the border into the Neutral Waters of the Rihannsu Main.

"We recieved word that they will be traveling into the Main, toward the Isla del Risa," Nero continued, moving to the chest against the aft wall. He withdrew a bottle of Rihannsu Ale and two glasses and poured as he spoke. "We will intercept them, of course." He turned and extended a drink to the Foriegn Marshal. "Is that acceptable?"
