Kirk had never, ever been so happy to see the inside of sickbay as it appeared around him. He let out a shuddery breath and looked down at Bones, who in the brilliant light looked a thousand times worse. His fingers gripped to the calloused fingers of the unconscious surgeon, eyes locked to his face. Just hang in there. We're home... just hang in there. Don't give up fighting, okay? Or I'll have to kick your ass. Dad too.

[OOC: Bones Under Attack | Away Mission Part 1 | Away Mission Part 2]

Uhura wasted no time in heading to the sickbay, leaving Hannity in charge of comms. As soon as the turbolift doors were open she was once again rushing through the hallway, ducking confused Ensigns and motioning for others to move out of her way. Gods, let them all be alright, she thought to herself, the seconds journey seeming more like hours until finally she burst through the door, looking around to see where they had materialized. This was the absolute worst part of these away mission, waiting to see if the people she cared about had returned alive. It was worse than being on them herself.

"Oh my--" was all she could manage as she spotted them, a hand clasped hard over her mouth to stop from... she didn't know what, cry out maybe. Coming to a halt beside them, her eyes first went to Kirk, making sure the Captain was alright before she glanced at Spock, then George. Her breath hitched as she caught sight of Bones, and immediately she took a step back to allow the medical professionals forwards.

"Oh god, what the hell happened?"

Chapel scanned her four new patients quickly, performing a mental triage. McCoy needed the most care, obviously, but the wound on Spock's arm looked like it could be nasty. And all of the men were showing signs of burns.

"Is that acid?" she said, and then, not waiting for a response, she directed another nurse to take the Captain, Spock and George through a field shower. McCoy, she moved directly into surgery.

Abdominal trauma, chemical burns, exposure to god-knew-what... She only hoped that the away team had brought McCoy back in time.

Spock took all the treatment in silence: the soaked, acidic clothes were stripped off, and he was pushed through a cleanser of some sort, coming out the other end to dress in those medical jumpsuits. He would have preferred his regular uniform again.

He didn't even say anything about the wound on his arm until one of the other nurses had caught it, and asked--ordered?--him to sit down on a biobed. She unwrapped the green-stained bandage from his arm, and then applying all sorts of treatment to it: disinfecting it, sealing it with the dermal regenerator, then finishing up with some sort of salve (to offset any chemicals that might have got in).

And then, just as he was about to get up and leave--obviously the need to be in sickbay had passed--he was asked none-too-politely to stay. Reluctantly, he resumed his seat on the biobed (now adjusted for Vulcan settings). At least, he noted to himself, Nyota was here.

George went through the motions, undress, shower, dress in new clothes, and waited patiently, for him, to be released. He wanted to get back, and curl up with Chris, or start doing the report or play solitaire or anything but be in the medical bay. "Can I go yet?"

It took all of her self restraint to keep out of the way as they were all dealt with, and even more so to stop from demanding answers. Clearly that wouldn't solve anything, so clenching her fists at her side tightly, Uhura waited until the nurses were done before she once more found herself at Spock's side, sparing George and his son a concerned look.

"Spock," she began softly, reaching out to brush her fingers very briefly against his cheek before she remembered herself and pulled back her hand. As the nurse passed, Uhura gave the woman a soft thank you and a smile. "Are you alright?" She didn't address the question to anyone in specific, worrying equal amounts about all three men and even more so for the one in surgery.

He let himself be put through everything, ignoring the harsh feeling of water against his skin when he was put into the shower, for once not flirting with every nurse in sight despite the fact that he was nude for a few moments. The skin on the back of his hands, along his face, and around his eyes was puffy and thick from the acid burns, and in particular the stinging in his eyes.

He sat in silence through the dermal regenerator, his biobed beeping slowly. A nurse ordered him to lay back and something got put over his eyes.

Every bit of him was focused on the man in surgery, as if he could will Bones to stay alive from where he was laying down. Bones, I'm sorry... I shouldn't have sent you. Just live, okay? I'll do anything to make sure you get through this.
