kirktastic: ((Captain) Pay your respects.)

There was a lot going on on his ship, and it was happening faster than he could keep up sometimes. He thanked everything for Spock as his First Officer because otherwise he would have had a backup of paperwork and a million other details he just couldn't deal with on top of everything else.

He knew there was someone new on the ship - the Sulu from Pasha's universe. He hoped this would be easy... specially since their own Sulu had gone missing. That still pissed him off, upset him. Sulu had been one of the best navigators he had ever seen, and the way he and Pavel had worked together... fuck.

He needed to talk to Scotty something fierce about the transporter. He couldn't figure out what happened that the four had ended up on the ship as women, but something had happened.

(OOC: This is for all new people and anyone else who needs this!)

Kirk looked up, and called out quickly, "Come in." He got his very first look at Roger Korby. Didn't take much of a guess who the stranger was. He stood up, offering out a hand, "Dr. Korby, I'll assume? Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you out when you came in, we've had new people showing up today and the meetings with them have lasted longer than expected."

Roger took the hand, offering back a firm grip. "New people, like, new - like me or," he waved his hand in the air, gesturing quotation marks. "New people." Taking one of the chairs in front of the captain's desk, Roger sat down, smiling politely.

"I'm sure you're up to your eyeballs in visitors, both expected and not, but I did want to make your acquaintance before I began my research."

"Not-of-this-universe people," Kirk supplied, "Almost all visitors have been unexpected, but... it's been crazy," He gave that grin that eased most people.

"So tell me about your research."

"Most of my research has been focused on past civilizations, gleaning information that can be used for today's medicine." His most significant work on ancient forensics was currently required reading at the Academy, but he didn't feel the need to remind the captain. Surely he remembered, seeing as he had been there so very recently.

The smile he returned to the young captain was his most charming. "However, I could not resist the chance to examine your guests, so to speak, and see what information they could share with us. You know, for science," he added.
