kirktastic: ((Captain) Pay your respects.)
[personal profile] kirktastic
The beeping came suddenly from off from the side of his desk where he sat in his office. For a second Kirk was grateful that no one was in there with him as he jumped, just a little startled. Grabbing his comm and flipping it open, Kirk got out "Hello" before realizing it was only an alert.

The alert was coming from Jim's communicator, down there on the planet, trapped with Nero. Knowing that Jim had managed to sneak out two messages before, a small shiver of worry passed through him as he realized what only an alert could mean. It had to be a warning that something was happening - something that Jim couldn't sneak away to tell him. Considering the circumstances, there were very few things that the warning could have been. Kirk could only hope that getting out this warning wasn't putting Jim's life in danger.

Kirk thought about what George had said the other night. The idea had gotten stuck in his head - transported against their will. He had thought about it, laying in bed at night when he couldn't sleep. Could there be a way to do just that? To transport not only Jim and Spock, but the Romulans as well? If something was happening right now, something that Jim thought was worthwhile enough to have to warn him about, then maybe it was their only chance. He had a good feeling that whatever was taking place wouldn't give him much time to think this over.

Just as Kirk started to get out of his chair, the computer spoke to him as simultaneously a red alert appeared on the console before him. Sensors indicate the Narada is no longer aboard this ship. Repeat - sensors indicate the Narada is no longer aboard this ship. Kirk felt a cold fear run down his spine as he stared at the diagram of the Enterprise the computer automatically pulled up. It showed the Narada's last known location in Jim's quarters with the single red dot disappearing and reappearing over and over again.

With that in mind, Kirk found himself rushing down toward the nearest transporter room, with his comm still in hand. "Captain to Lt Commander Scott - Captain to Lt Commander Scott!" When Scotty didn't reply fast enough, Kirk snapped off a curse and hit the transporter room at a dead run. Kirk looked to the startled ensign behind the controls. "Ensign - the last known coordinates of the Narada should still be in the system, pull them up for me," Kirk said quickly as he slid in behind another console. His fingers flew over the screen, and using the coordinates the ensign pulled up, he scanned for information about the Narada.

The Enterprise's powerful scanners swept across where the Narada lay dormant on the surface of the planet below. To his utter amazement, the powerful shielding that had not only protected the Narada from every attack they had launched her way but kept them from doing something like this before was down, as if it had never been. To his greatest fear, Kirk could also see that her power levels, which had previously been so low, were now quickly picking up. That had to be it. That had to be what Jim was warning him about. The Romulans had done exactly as they feared - they had managed to not only locate but mine up the dilithium without the use of the plasma drill Kirk had helped destroy.

There was no time to think about what he had to do or talk to any other officer if this was the right course of action. Kirk looked to the confused ensign beside him and said, "Prepare - four to beam up." The computer recognized Jim and Spock's signatures immediately - it was Nero and Ayel's that Kirk had to locate. It wasn't hard, there seemed to be little else in the immediate area around the Narada. The mining must have scared everything off, Kirk thought to himself off-handedly. He had no doubt that every second counted. After all, it was impossible to say how long it would take for the Narada to get her shields back up.

Kirk hadn't realized he was holding his breath until the computer finally located Nero and Ayel's signatures. Something else that George had said came into his mind. He wasn't sure that Stockholm Syndrome was the right term for it but Kirk understood what his father meant. He didn't know how Jim and Spock would react to what he planned to do. With that in mind, he carefully divided the instructions to the transporter. Spock and Jim would be sent the conference room on Deck A. He instructed the computer to lock the door on the conference room and put his own personal code as the clearance needed for the lock.

The next set of instructions were a little more difficult to do in such a hurry. Choosing two open rooms in the brig, he set each one to its highest level of security. Only the captain would be able to lower the force field that separated the Romulans from the rest of the ship. Knowing the anger he had seen in Spock's eyes, and knowing the revenge in some people's hearts, even in his own, Kirk had to ensure that his crew was protected from Nero, and Nero from his crew. I'll need to speak with Security myself, Kirk thought quickly as he typed.

As he finished the last of the instructions to the computer, with the transporter locked on the four life signatures below, Kirk could only hope that he was doing the right thing. He looked to the ensign beside him and nodded only once. "Energize."

Jim was distracted from his own awkwardness in this new body by the shift of Spock's breasts under his uniform. When he reached out to meet Spock's fingers with his own, would Spock receive that jolt of arousal? Jim tried to suppress it, for Spock's sake, for the sake of this situation, which was far larger than being turned into women and even that was potentially very serious. He'd been in another woman's body before, and not much liked it. What if someone was running around wearing his? Of course there were two at least on this ship alone, but his actual body.

He turned from the contact, smiling reassuringly (he hoped--it wasn't his face, or if it was he wasn't familiar with its workings) as he went for the comm.

"Jim Kirk to the Captain," he said, hoping the computer wasn't going to be picky about his voice patterns. "We seem to be locked in a conference room. Unless you want to walk in on something prurient, I suggest you join us in the near future."

He switched off the unit and glanced around at Spock, his expression suddenly delighted. "Spock! Were you looking at my ass?"

Even the touch of their fingers - slender fingers, Spock noted, though still with a certain strength - was different. The contact buzzed but it traveled through him differently, was not the comforting gesture he had so quickly grown used to.

His hair was long and felt heavy on his back. Unacceptable.

"I wished merely to be complete in my examination, Captain."

It has remained an attractive feature.

He moved to the table, thighs brushing together in an entirely new way, breasts continuing to shift - he would require proper undergarments even for the most assuredly brief time they would remain in these froms. The uncontrolled body was too distracting. Even sitting down was a different motion, and his hair caught between his arm and his body, pulling uncomfortably.

Kirk was already on his way down towards security when the comm came through. His mind was completely wrapped up in other things, namely (unknowingly!) the two people in the very conference room he was thinking of. He needed to tell security about Nero...

All he heard was a female's voice, and 'captain'.

"Kirk here. Busy, unless this is an emergency." He said without much thought behind it. It could have been anyone, but it wasn't Jim, Spock, or one of the security people he knew was in charge down in the brig right now so his mind dismissed it without a second thought.

Jim rolled his eyes, though they sent disconcertingly familiar sparks Spock's direction based on the thought received. Well, there was that, at least. And it meant Spock also thought they'd remained themselves, just... girls. He was also picking up that Spock did not automatically think this was the best thing ever. While Jim was very attached to his penis--apparently more figuratively than literally--as with most situations, he assumed this was temporary.

And planned to take full advantage of it, when he had time to plan such things.

"Jim, this is an emergency." Oh, this would be good. "Jim Kirk and Spock of the alternate reality have just been beamed aboard and request your attention at your earliest convenience."

Spock did not think in such absolute terms as "greatest thing ever" but if he did, this would most certainly not be a contender for that title.

That Jim apparently was intrigued in a positive fashion.... Spock suspected his research into how to fix this problem would be interrupted by Jim's own research into what possessing a female body entailed.

If it would not have been an entirely unVulcan action, he would have rolled his own eyes.

Jim was buzzing from adrenaline, unmindful of Spock's thoughts on the matter. He lowered his voice a bit, just in case it helped.

"Does it matter? Jim, just get down here, unless you've got some emergency with Nero. I promise you it's worth it. Either that, or explain why you've got us locked up in here and how long you'll be, so I know if I have time to ravish my first officer."

Jim nearly jumped up and down in glee. It was fairly unseemly. He bit back his guffaw, for the sake of everyone but him. "Jim. Just get here as soon as you can. I will find a way out, if I have to. You know that."

Jim. Jim was a girl? ...Jim was a girl. "...Is Spock... too...?" Trying to even imagine it. Pasha and Pavel looked... fairly similar. Fuck Jim would have to be a smoking hot girl. ...NOT THE TIME TO BE THINKING THAT, JIM, mentally berating himself.

Thoughts of security were quickly fleeing from his mind.

Jim glanced at Spock. It was worrying him, a little, how despondent Spock seemed, in a smoking hot Vulcan way.

"Spock too," Jim said, following Kirk's train of thought. Or something like it. "Look, either open the door, get down here, or face the consequences. Kirk out."

He switched off the comm, and went to kneel in front of Spock, concern supplanting crazed delight for the first time since the discovery. "You okay, Spock?"

Jim on his knees would ordinarily inspire certain thoughts, even if Spock did not speak of them. Now, however, he merely surveyed Jim with eyes that were, at least, still familiar.

"Captain, this is not my body. There are certain biological differences I do not anticipate."

Perhaps it was not so wise of the Vulcan Council to so closely guard the secrets of Vulcan biology.

Jim sobered, slightly, and nodded. "Yes. Yes, there are." Some of them Jim thought might be awesome, but he did realize he wasn't thinking with the most balanced possible view. Left to really think about it, he didn't like having his body taken away any more than anyone else.

"But it is you in there," he said, his eyes smiling up at Spock, "just like it's me in here. And we'll figure it out together, okay?" He pulled his hand free of his sleeve--he needed a new uniform--and offered it to Spock. Contact, though Spock might be spooked slightly by it being with different bodies than they were used to.

Jim hoped that wouldn't last.

But would it remain him? Spock was uncertain.

Still, Jim's gesture was reassuring, even as the contact buzzed along unfamiliar pathways. The bond was the same. It was stable. And it was still clearly there with Leonard as well. And the distance between them had been erased - Spock carefully nudged at Leonard's consciousness, unwilling to interrupt even now, but hungry for the missed contact.

"I do believe you, Captain."

"You always do, don't you?" Jim said softly, fondly. It was odd, hearing his own words in such an unfamiliar timbre, sweetened or perhaps that was just some lingering bias he had. He could feel Spock's uncertainty through their unfamiliar hands, and he sent all the gratitude he had at Spock's safety, and their continued partnership, through it. They were back, safe, Bones was here, and in light of all that a new anatomy meant significantly less to Jim except as another, relatively benign adventure.

Somehow, he felt this was not like the last time. Not Janice Lester. He'd felt wrong in that body, and now he felt awkward and off but it wasn't the same. It'd be best to check, obviously, but this body seemed to react as he would, if not in all the predictable ways.

"Please can I kiss you? Just once."

Would it even feel the same, in this utterly foreign body?

Spock nodded.

If anything was a sign that he retained at least the core of himself, it was that he was unable to refuse such a direct request from Jim.

Jim beamed at Spock and slid forward, rising a little to press his lips to the luscious, if currently pouty, lips Spock offered.

He wasn't ready to address exactly what he was feeling right now, knowing this beautiful lady was Spock, feeling both the excitement of new territory and the familiar but no-less-exciting aura that filled his experience of "Spock" these days, but he knew those lips were soft and full, if initially a little unyielding beneath his. Jim didn't push it--he didn't pull away, but simply eased into the kiss, his technique familiar if the equipment wasn't.

Jim tasted different. It was similar, mostly the same, but layered with other complex biological flavors.

His methodology - which Spock had quite enjoyed in his own body - was similarly almost entirely the same yet nuanced with different pressures and textures.

Jim's mouth was quite soft and warm - humans had warmer mouths than their skin temperature would suggest but this seemed somehow different from the usual temperature differential. Perhaps it would bear more investigation.

Spock parted his lips, allowed the entrance of Jim's tongue, the exploration highlighting the differences - but also easing Spock into familiarity with this new body, demonstrating that it was not quite the disaster he had concluded it to be. It could not be entirely disastrous when Jim's kiss was so....

Delicious.

Slowly, Spock relaxed into it, shoulders dropping, pressing closer to his mate, returning the pressure of mouths.

Spock's mouth, his kiss, were hot. Jim was not interested in delineating the different uses of that word in this context. He was deeply interested in kissing Spock, in the breach in Spock's defenses that allowed his tongue entrance, in the new/familiar taste and feel of him.

He was also interested in the reaction of his own body, marked before and growing now. Obviously he knew about female arousal, had been on the other end, but... It was weird, feeling it.

He thought, as his hands ran up the length of Spock's thighs, that perhaps he should start wearing underwear.

Their reunion had been interrupted by hard work and an even harder situation - Spock would have justified it thus if he had been asked. But Jim was not asking for justification - he was sliding his - her - hands up Spock's thighs.

Spock parted those thighs so Jim could get closer, move closer, kiss more. His own hands - so strange and light - fluttered to rest on Jim's face. Rounder. But the underlying bone structure was similar. The hair was... very soft to the touch. And long. And pleasant to his fingers. Spock twined his fingers in it and pulled back from the kiss just long enough to take a breath before moving in again for more.

Whatever it looked like, Jim would probably have felt the urge to get as close to Spock as humanly possible as quickly as possible regardless of gender. Affirmation of life after adrenaline-fueled uncertainty was nothing new, though it was only recently it had taken this form with them. Even so, he could hardly separate the variant circumstances from one another. He and Spock were safe, together, and Spock was a hot chick. Any one of those three things alone was more than enough reason to sigh into him/her, flowing even closer between Spock's thighs, the hand in his hair--not tugging, but suggesting it--sparking thoughts that touched Len but were not exclusively involving him.

Though his mouth was occupied, Jim was by no means quiet.

Beautiful, god you're beautiful, Spock, and we're back, you're back, I have you here...

Spock did not pretend to be immune - he more than suggested; he pulled Jim upward, light pressure tangled in his long blonde hair and half stood, pushing Jim back against the table.

This is a pleasing body to you?

His own relief and... joy to be back on safe ground was immense.

The move was unexpected, but not at all unwelcome. In fact, it was a pleasant surprise, Jim having somewhat assumed that Spock's discomfort was great enough that he'd have to persuade everything out of her. Him. Damn. Jim's ass met the edge of the table with an oddly pleasant, sharp pressure and his arms attempted to draw Spock closer.

I'd like it to be, he returned slyly.

McCoy jumped a mile even at the slight nudge, PADD falling to the floor with a clatter. They must've been back. When did they get back? And why had anyone told him? It had certainly been a while since he'd felt that brush against his consciousness - far too long, in his opinion.

...and not only that, but everything else that came after it. Well. They were certainly amusing themselves, wherever they were, if it was transferring through to him like this (not that he was complaining. At all.).

Something felt...oddly different, though, but he couldn't quite place what it was and right now he wasn't particularly concerned about it - the only thing that mattered was that they were back, and he had to go and find them. Right now, preferably.
