Communication to All

Your oh so lovely Captain has reserved an entire bar for our use for our final night on Risa! You can get the position of it from the attached file. Nice little place, tucked up on the beach and right up against the waterline, full bar with everything you can imagine! I'll be seeing you all around sunset!

[OOC: This thread can run as long as we need it too, far past the 'end' of Risa Saturday night. Feel free to post anywhere, there's no order, who gives a damn about how the thread looks, just HAVE FUN!]

He and Jim had returned inside, hair and clothes full of sand, he was sure, but - in a week filled with incredible moments, Jim singing to him outside might have topped them all, and Bones was sure the stupid look of love on his face was like a beacon to everyone on how he felt about his captain.

But now they were inside, and Jim had been pulled from his side by some of the guys in laundry for God knows what... and George was at the bar.

"Hey there," Bones called out, clapping him on the shoulder. "Nice job up there. You two sound good together."

"I had to go one with her," George chuckled, ice water and lime being guzzled like it was going to be rationed. "She's got terrible stage fright. She'd've decorated my shoes with puke if I hadn't. We sounded alright?"

"You sounded great, really. You know I'd tell you what I really thought." Not that he would, but he liked George, as a friend, away and apart from being Kirk's dad.

He turned to the bartender and asked for some fruit juice.

"We used to sing that song, at the Academy," George smiled. "Mind, if she'd tried back then to sing it karaoke, wouldn't matter if I was up there, she'd still decorate my shoes. She's gotten a lot better. Your song was..." He didn't quite have the words for it and just squeezed Bones' shoulder.

Bones glared for a bit, recalling the details of that stupid bet... but it worked out in the end. "Thanks," was all he said, looking down, then back up. "It was..." he just shrugged. "Well, you know."

"No hard feelings?" George asked, smiling slightly sheepishly. "I've got another song I kinda wanted to wait until everyone was pretty well, drunk for, so I could plead drunkenness for singing it."

"I'll let you know when I forgive you," he said, clearly not all that angry. Bones looked around the bar, that shift taking place where people started moving slower, talking slower, eyes glassier and everyone feeling friendly. "I'd say get to it soon, before people start heading out of here."

As much fun as this evening had been, Bones wanted nothing more than to grab Kirk and get the hell out of here and back to their beach cabin for one last night together, completely alone.

"Hopefully by Monday, otherwise our session is gonna be pretty interesting," George chuckled. "Want Jim to hear the song, so you stay by him when I sing it? Jim is here, so Winnie seems to be pretty well glued to Chris' side." George didn't quite meet Bones eyes when he made the request and there was definite pinkening of his cheeks. George was kinda looking forward to being back at their hotel room for the night though he knew that meant they'd have to have the conversations they'd been putting off in the morning. Shoreleave over, back to real life, and it's problems.

George was such a romantic, Bones thought in wonder. A real, honest-to-God sweet guy. Bones hadn't thought they existed anymore, though George's kid sure had been able to surprise him more than once...

"I'll make sure he's there, listening," he told George. "But get to it soon, okay?"

"Yes sir," George grinned. "I'll be up there in just a bit. Then you can escape and...do things I don't think I needed to imagine my son even having an inkling for for, well, at least fourteen more years."

Bones looked back over at Kirk, telling some joke, moving his hands in a motion that reminded him of milking a cow - oh, THAT story...

"We'll leave when he's ready. Probably just pass out tonight," he mused, thinking that might be probable, depending on how late they'd get out of here. That wasn't so bad, though, just sleeping together, holding each other. Best part of his day, in fact.
