Your oh so lovely Captain has reserved an entire bar for our use for our final night on Risa! You can get the position of it from the attached file. Nice little place, tucked up on the beach and right up against the waterline, full bar with everything you can imagine! I'll be seeing you all around sunset!


[OOC: This thread can run as long as we need it too, far past the 'end' of Risa Saturday night. Feel free to post anywhere, there's no order, who gives a damn about how the thread looks, just HAVE FUN!]

"Did Bones give you the smaller bag of candy I got you?" George asked curiously. "He said you liked those. He's a good shopping partner y'know."

Surprise filtered through Kirk's expression for a moment before he remembered. "Yes, he did. He picked those out?" He did grin with that thought, remembering sitting on the beach with Spock and eating them, "I heard a little bit about you two going out together."

"I picked them out," George said. "Bones just told me which ones to pick out."

"Oh? I hope I didn't traumatize him too badly," George chuckled. "Yeah, I had fun. Got you a couple things... You'll get them on the ship. I think I remembered to get everything I wanted to."

"You didn't need to get me anything, Dad." Kirk blinked at the idea, not too sure what to make of it. "Gift's enough to have you ON my ship, alive."

"I know I didn't," George responded. "But I get a kick out of buying stuff for people. It's almost more fun than getting stuff myself. And most the sharp and shinies are for my peace of mind. Felt absolutely naked when we went down without my usual kit...and you should know how to use them too. I'd be care though, your Doc's a pretty good knife thrower."

Blond brows shot up, "You are?" That made him grin, "Would you be willing to teach me?" It sounded like a damn useful skill to have.

"Nah, I bought you and Bones a kit and figured I'd let you fumble around and figure it out yourself," George said very very seriously. "Of course, if you're really anti-presents, I could just keep the nifty knife that gets hidden in your belt buckle..." He tried very hard to maintain his serious look.

Of course Kirk lit up like a kid being told about christmas presents. "...Oh yea?" He grinned fiercely, "I can't wait to see it."

George grinned at that look. "And maybe I found another present that you're not getting told about, but if you really don't want it..." He laughed happily.

"I also picked up a selection of booze, and a blanket to drop off in sickbay. Used to have one on the Kelvin for when your mom or I were overnight guests at the Hypospray Hotel so the other one wasn't sleeping without something warm and snuggly. I noticed even if the chairs are more comfortable, the biobeds haven't been enlarged enough for comfortable two person sleeping."

"Hypo...spray... Hotel." That just made Kirk burst out laughing, trying to think already if he could get a sign put up on sickbay's main entrance to that effect. "I already think I need to have at least one of those installed, since it seems like we need them!"

"Dr. Lenski got mad when I called it that, but what else fits?" George chuckled. "Well if you can convince Fleet to get one...otherwise I'll show you where I put the blanket."

"I'll do my damnedest." Kirk promised, already thinking about it. "So, I'm thinking. Maybe Pike could swing getting some of the courses from the academy... I remember hearing about them. They're for off worlders or people who haven't had a lot to do with technology... teaches them all the latest stuff so they can get into the academy fully."

"So long as I could do them on the ship...wonder if I can convince Chris that he needs to be my instructor for them," George said mischieviously. "He was a more patient teacher than me. Win and him banned me from TAing after the first time."

"I bet you he'd teach you." Kirk said, nose only wrinkling a little bit. He had to learn to deal with it, even if it still weirded him out. A lot.

"Sadly he's serious when he's actually teaching," George said. "I'd have to actually do the learning. Oh well."

George tilted his head. "Learning to use technology scares you?"

"Anyway...yeah, I got both you and Bones a set of knives, and I taught Bones how to throw them while we were at the weapons shop. Little work, he'll be better than I am."

A soft laugh, "Seriously? I can't even imagine Bones throwing a knife." The idea just made his head spin.

"Hit the board on the second try," George said proudly. "Not the center but..." And George may have given him incentive, but he had a feeling Jim would deck him if George revealed the incentive.

"I'm impressed. Wouldn't have thought Bones the type." He rubbed the back of his neck and drank more of his drink.

"Neither did I...but I got to admit I'm glad," George admitted. "And you should have seen him with that rifle." George whistled respectfully.

"...rifle?" Confusion. "What do you mean?" Where the hell did Bones get a GUN?

"He brought it home with him, didn't he show you?" George asked quizzically.
