Well, he had not ever intended to see this place again, even unwittingly, but with any luck, it wouldn't be permanent. That being said, he did want to do something while he was here, and that was check on a few people he cared a lot about and hoped were all right.
Not surprisingly, one of them was the Chief Engineer. So, he requested said Chief's location and went that way. (He also made a mental note to try'n go find a few things, but he was fairly sure they'd be gone.)
Of course, once he got there, he realized that this was not the Scott (or, likely, the Keenser) that he had known before. It confused him some, but not enough that he didn't give over to curiosity.
The Cadet (or as he was known) tilted his head, offering a bit of a bemused little smile. "Aye aye... fit like?"
