It might have taken time, probably more time than most people would have ever handled than Bones patiently put up with, but things like this told Jim exactly why he wanted no one else so close in his life. The way Bones read him like an open book, drawing on him and delving in deeper. In some ways, parts of Bones were still closed off to him, but no more than some parts of himself were to Bones. That didn't matter, only these moments, brilliant and beautiful.
