Yesterday was technically my one-year, but had a rough day medically so I'll do this post today.

I can't believe it's been one year since this all started. This time last year, I had been RPing with cso_spock for more than a month and we had been rockin' through emails. She and I would giggle over the kink_meme. Then one day, I spotted letspunchit and realized - it was another RPer! I made this account (account name history: someone said a fic was 'kirktastic', name stuck with me XD) and sent Pike this absolutely goofy 'official' Starfleet email asking why he was trolling around on the meme. Through him, I met the original Kirk and Spock, Sulu and Chekov, dctr_mccoy... I can remember doing a thread with Harold and Sulu that was entirely icon based. XD

Since dctr_mccoy did the 'list awesome threads' post, I won't. XD

Things have changed a great deal since then. Mentally, physically, RPly, friendships, people. Sometimes, I wish it were still that simple as it had been, before things got more complicated. I go back to the kink_meme and ICly comment once in a while, but it's sad I don't get the responses from other RPers like I did once. Not that the kink_meme itself is in tip-top shape, but what can you do? ^^

Jim has changed as well. I go back over old threads and smile. I worry if he's OOC sometimes, but I remember my mindscape about RPing - if a character doesn't evolve, it's not real. It's amazing to watch how he's evolved over a year of time, more than a year since the Narada, how he's grown.

And how the friendships I have with so many of you have grown. I met dctr_mccoy in real life and had one of the best weekends of my life. XD I wanna fly out to CA and meet cso_spock. I wish some of you crazy people lived closer!

Anyway... tl;dr, thank you. To all of you, for making this last... for making it great.

Hrm, we SHOULD do something epic. I have nothing in mind except I need to find a way to get Brent Spiner to call my mother on the phone, as she loved him to death when I was younger.

We're over the 20k mark and only about halfway done this fic on the BB. @_@

Hmmm... I wonder if we could do it. Brent Spiner... phone call to mom. Well, Walter Koenig called my mom, so... anything is possible! LOL. (My mom is STILL gushing about that, btw.) But seriously, EPIC things at conventions must be spontaneous. Stick with me, and trust me, something epic will happen. It's ME. I've not had a single convention in the past two years where something amazing didn't happen, and the amazing things keep getting more amazing. And last weekend, I got to bring four friends with me for the adventure. Let's keep it rolling, shall we?

20K is halfway? Oh hun, if only. I'm 40K into my fic, and it's MAYBE 1/3 done.

Well, it's hard to say. Our adventure is definitely a "Part A" then "Part B" type fic, two defined sort of 'times'. Part A we got stuck on, so we actually started on Part B and decided to go back to Part A later. Part A was like, 15k before we stopped and we are missing huge, huge chunks of it.

I'm concerned that maybe people won't want ST-adventure/away mission/alien species/homeworld (Part A) in a fic over the angst/relationship building that is Part B.

I've met Tom Felton, but it was a paid photo-thingy at last year's D*Con. However, the amusing factor was that I was in costume as Quidditch!Harry, and as I walked in, Tom looked at me, grinned, and said, "Hello, Daniel!" I also got him to hold my broomstick. And LO! The slashers went wild. :D

Although he's not as "big" in the Harry Potter world as Tom Felton, I've known Chris Rankin since 2005, and whenever we see each other at a HP convention, he always recognizes me and says hi. Actually, at the end of this convention, he said, "You and I have to actually sit down and talk sometime." I told him we'd do coffee at the next convention, and he agreed, gave me a huge hug. It's cool like that. He's realized that I'm an enthusiastic fan, but not a crazy one.

Didn't snap any pics this year, but kept bumping into him. He's a cool guy. Loves the HP conventions, and he's coming back next time, too.

Hmmm... I LOVE fics where the authors take the time to build up the alien worlds, design the away missions, and so on. I think it makes it STAR TREK, not just sappy fanfic. So, if nothing else, you've got my affection for your efforts!

I always hoped that maybe I would get to meet someone famous like that (...if it says anything, I would give anything to sit down and have a cup of coffee with Robin Williams) in a relaxed, non-fandom way. You have all the luck in the world somehow girl. XD

I'm really excited about this BB, if it comes together like it should, it should be good. I have that 'too many details' problem with my world-building. I could tell you about the alien religion, building, method of energy gathering, about their space travels, culture, every detail... and my heart wants to get it out on paper, ya know? XD

Writing has been very at ends with me lately. I finally started writing something on my own, which I rarely do, and the first thing ever over 5k words. Didn't end up getting many comments, which yea whatever I know we're not supposed to be writing for them, but in the end they give me the urge to keep writing it. As I was just saying this morning, is it really worth the effort and stress and concern and worry for the readers if no one's reading it? XD

Working on a Tarsus thing for the H/C Bingo I started. That's one big angst fest so far. XD

I freakin' adore Robin Williams. That's awesome. But yeah, my encounter with Walter Koenig was very much that relaxed, non-fandom sort of encounter. It was quite amazing.

I dunno about luck, because technically, I don't believe in luck... but maybe there's something to it.

I'm sure your story will be amazing. Follow your instincts on it, and put as much detail as FEELS right. And if it needs trimming, trust your beta.

Original stories are hard that way - trying to draw in an audience is a challenge. Where did you post it? I've been busy, so I might have missed it.

Oooh, Tarsus fic. I've seen so many of those, but really, they can be amazing if done well.

I definitely believe in luck. Good and bad. I don't believe you can do anything to influence it, but its just another condensed word for all the tiny factors and variables that make life happen the way it does. Luck just sort of sums all those up. /makesnosense

I have to go back to my rooms sometimes - I get a little on the @___@ side if I spend too long in the crowds. I wish I had a costume to go with this year! I miss going to cons in costume. XD

It isn't an original story - should have been more clear. I only meant that it's a first for not writing with another person. Unusual, maybe, but so far I've really only been able to write with someone else no matter the fandom I'm in. It's over on my writing journal - I like to keep this journal and that journal separate so I hope you remember the name of it or I'll PM it to you. <3~

It's 5 blocks on my bingo card - Kidnapping, Hostages, Heat Stroke, Runaways, and Homelessness. Basically telling parts of the story of what happened during Jim's time on Tarsus, what happened during the slaughter, and afterward. I wanted to build a look into why my Jim (though it isn't for the RP, just 'my idea of Jim') ended up on the streets in a world where money isn't necessary anymore - or at least, sort of. The idea of a man who is on the run from the government (or what he thinks is) that did him so wrong.

No costume. I am not a great sewer so I usually do prop-related things, but with the weight-not-going-down thing and the no-inspiration thing, it's been tough. XD

The Tarsus fic? That isn't up yet. I've only done two of the five. It's hard to write cuz it feels like a blow to my Jim!muse's chest when I'm done. XD

I know it's been a few weeks since you posted this and I'm not part of the RP however, I've always loved coming onto the different journals and checking out what's being written and the conversations.

And I'm with mijan where I'd love to go back some time and start from the beginning ... but there's so much I've missed! (But I'll be busy with uni for the next 97 days not that I've been counting so maybe when I go on summer holidays...)

However this RPG has always looked like so much fun and I always got excited whenever I saw you guys on the kink_meme. :)

I still pop up on the kink_meme from time to time, but it was never quite the same after we were driven away from the original one.

Oh really?! :D Sometimes I can't be bothered to write long replies if I'm commenting something so every once in a while I waffle on and on and some poor soul gets a long reply as a result.

Hehe, yeah. I've seen dctr_mccoy's because (s)he's really thorough. Although I kind of look at it and think... crap, where to I start? (But thank you :) I'll save it in my delicious to go back to it when I can since I'm so easily distracted. So, soon.)

It's almost like starting to watch a soap opera after it's been on for 20 years and wanting to know how everything started and whats happened since then... It's nearly impossible to catch up. However, unlike soap opera's this is more interesting because well... I like these characters better than soap characters. Also, this is almost as awesome as having the real characters and actors interact! That and Jim/Bones seem to be together for most of the this which is awesome since they're my OTP hehe!

Yes, I haven't been to the kink_meme in a while but it seems most K/M shippers don't go there anymore so it's kinda pointless. :( ... What happened? You were driven away? Why!

Haha, yes, I am! Not that there are too many countries to choose from in the Southern Hemisphere as most of the land mass is located above the Equator. But I find that as much as I love my country it is very inconvenient if I ever want to plan a holiday. Since my big break is during winter overseas and well... the holidays during (northern) summer are more preferable since it's easier to travel.

Funny enough, I was very much a K/S shipper until I met dctr_mccoy and she got me so hard on K/B I can't imagine anything less now. XD We got K/B together semi-early on, developed not because we were like "MUST SHIP" but naturally. I still go back and read those old threads. ^_^

Driven away... it's sorta a long story. On the original meme, we were all RPing and people would come and bitch us out, leave nasty anon comments on the kink_meme discussion about us, and insult us... so we left. @_@

Really? Heh, well the new movie was the first I ever saw of ST and K/B just made sense to me. So I was like... I just don't get why there is all this fuss about K/S! I didn't even see it in the movie! But I'm attempting to make my way through TOS and see where it all started.
