[Diverging Pathways] -- [m!Pike and Kirk]

Kirk frowned as a message came to him, and he slowly tapped a finger on the console in front of him. Well, fuck. Bastard-face. What do you want? He actually hesitated for a while before opening the message marked with Pike’s name, with the tiny notation after it ‘BF’ for that exact insult he had just thought. Kirk shook his head, growing softly to himself. Fucker.

He opened up the message, brows raising. He wants to go home. We have our transporter in room… what the hell was it, three maybe? Four? Hell if I know anymore I’ll remember when I get there. Three. Definitely three. That one’s calibrated from when we got McCoy back and forth from the Enterprise. If Pike knows the ..signature, coordinates, whatever that his Spock used to get here, then he could go home.

Good. Get him off the damn ship. Kirk stood up, typing a fast message back.

Pike, meet me in transporter room three.

He pulled the phaser from the desk drawer in his office. Haven’t heard any bad reports from you lately, but like hell I’m taking a chance.

Pike was both pleased and surprised to receive a message back so quickly, but realized that the young Captain would want him off the ship as soon as possible. He closed his eyes and felt around the edges of the bond again. Spock was very, very tightly shielded, so tightly that it could feel nothing at all from the bond. He had done the same thing on arriving to this universe, and had lasted at least a month without the effects of the separation hitting him drastically. Spock would be able to last a few days while he got things sorted out, as long as he kept himself alive and his own half of the bond tightly shielded.

It would only be a few days, enough time to give the ship to one of his crew. He had an idea in mind who, and despite the fact he had no desire to turn his ship over to anyone, would be an excellent Captain to take up the mantel. It would also please the Empress, no doubt.

He had to consult a layout of the ship to find transporter room three, then he slipped into the adjoining room of their quarters. Pike gathered the padds Spock had left his notes on, and the ones he had been writing on, and went to meet the young Captain.
