The door parted with a swish and Scotty plastered on a polite smile as he stepped into Kirk's office. The Captain was seated at his desk, looking fairly thoughtful, and Scotty's eyebrows lifted as he walked up, across from the man.

"Ye' needed somethin', Capt'an?" Scotty prompted lightly.
