It didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on in that head of his. Bones knew that Kirk was as new to all of this as he was, even more scared maybe, given his history of people leaving him. The last thing he wanted this morning was to be sad or worried about the future. Despite their potenial issues, things had never looked brighter.

"So," he rumbled low in his throat. "Someone went shopping when he was on the planet," Bones chuckled, turning to fully face Kirk, water splashing around them as he moved. "I admit, my favorite part was the red bow."
