The arms around Kirk tightened. "Yeah," Bones said quietly into Jim's shoulder. "It was different, Jim," he continued, "and I'd be lying if I said that wasn't amazing. More than amazing."

He took another breath, closing his eyes as he remembered the feeling, the bond between them all. "But I don't think I could do that with just anyone, you know?" Like you probably could, he added in his head.

He touched Kirk's fingertips with his own. "But you wanting me there... it means the world to me. More than you know." He snickered softly. "Did that answer your question? I don't even know if it did or not."
